Happy? You bet Posted by Hello

where do i begin?

to tell the story of how i crammed my wedding preps? well, i didn't really cram. we attended to the major wedding suppliers as early as february this year by visitng them or visiting their offices and asking for quotations and other info. then we booked the reception, church, caterer, photo/video and couturier by june. so that wasn't really much of a problem.

ricky and i opened a business, a convenience store to be exact. we started june and opened on september 28. so we sort of stopped the wedding preps because it's not a joke to open a business. contractors, renovation, suppliers, merchandising and human resource concerns took over the space in our brains and lives intended for the wedding. i was thinking, okay naman, naibook na ang major, we can pick-up from where we left off a couple of months before the wedding.

so, a couple of weeks prior to dec. 30, i started going back to preps. first on the list, church req'ts. little did i know that the checklist that was given to me in june/july was the wrong one! and the person who gave it to me resigned from the parish office already. so imagine the look on the faces of the secretaries in the parish office when i submitted some papers! to their dismay, and mine as well, there were still some documents that we needed to secure. and these weren't processed in a day. so we had to rush to get our CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage Record) from the NSO, post our wedding banns, attend the marriage counselling session provided by the parish (held every last friday of the month only - buti na lang umabot sa nov. sched, yikes!) and attend to bridal and ento fittings in between. whew! now i firmly believe that wedding preps are a preparation for marriage. ricky and i had to divide and conquer. since he's normally running about town in the mornings, he took care of going to NSO, filing the requests and going to the churches to file the banns. i on the otherhand, since it's imperative that i open gotcha in the morning, did all the phone calls, coordination & letters. then, if need be, i'd go out in the p.m. when dong is at the store. speaking of dong, he was a great help to us when we had to attend seminars or interviews; he'd come to gotcha earlier so that i/we could leave... (thank you dong!)

we managed to get all the documents in and we attended a canonical interview on the morning of the 29th! imagine if the priest who interviewed us didn't give us a go-signal? wow, i'd still be single...

here comes the bride....

wow, i can't believe it, i am now mrs. chillyn pacot - de lucia. wow & wow again...it seems like yesterday i was writing about getting the proof for our invites now, we're married!!! can you believe it? neither can i...

but then, it really is a strange mixed-up feeling...when you suddenly realize that you're no longer single but married! (i was going to say double but hey, everybody knows i'm double, literally and figuratively...)
i used to have this thought in the back of my head that it doesn't matter if it doesn't work out between us in the end because, i'm still free... free meaning single...i could still meet other guys and hope to find mr. right for me. but after last thursday, i gotta pinch myself every now and then and make myself understand that that won't work anymore. that mindset. now, it's not just me but there's ricky too.

wow, it's amazing...i've wondered what every bride in my egroup actually meant when they said that's it's a different feeling when you wake up in the morning and your husband is beside you. believe me, on the 31st, i had to gather my senses for a few seconds upon waking up because i was thinking, what the hell am i doing here? then i saw ricky (or should i say i heard ricky coz' he was snoring loudly) beside me and i caught myself smiling because i am married and this man should be the first person i see every morning.

there is so much to write about. things that transpired before, during and after the wedding. but the schedule was so hectic that i couldn't even find the time to check my email. in the coming days, i'll try and relive the whole thing for you through my entries. i just hope you won't tire of reading them.

gotta go...

mrs. chillyn pacot-de lucia (wow....)

book nook

well, as i said, biographies/autobiographies (so sorry, "living history" is an autobiography) are generally interesting; if you found them interesting enough, you would buy the book. in my case, i am intrigued by her life and what she has done. i read somewhere that she may run in the next u.s. presidential election and it wouldn't hurt "to know her better". i don't do book reviews so please do not expect an in-depth review of the book.

i also wanted to get "in my life" by bill clinton but, it's not available in paperback and for the price i'll have to pay, there are other books i'd like to devour.

i hope to finally read the book on the bus on the way home to cabanatuan. that is if i don't get to sleep first... hehehehe

bye everybody!

The Muppets

they're back! the muppets! disney has bought the franchise and has relaunched the muppets!

they now have a website and are currently planning a movie (if they haven't already begun filming it) with queen latifah and quentin tarantino in a cameo, i think. a television show is in the works.

maybe that's why i don't mind being called babuy (especially if ricky is doing the calling). i was known in the house as miss piggy. Eyebrow

speaking of that fabulous pig, she has her own "corner" ala sex and the city Smiles

ricky is due in a few minutes and for lunch, we will be having danggit! Yummy our friends mako & cris gave us some when they came back from cebu...

gotta go, sago!

hibernating piggy

oh god, another hibernation.... i'm back for the meantime. whew!things are starting to get crazy....

well, we're going to get the invites tomorrow. when susan (of vcraft) said that, i really couldn't believe it. as my egroupmates say, it's a different feeling when you get the proof, another feeling when you get news about when they'll be ready for pick-up and an entirely different emotion when you see your invites. i hope and pray that they're alright. i'll definitely tell you when we've gotten them; hope to post pictures too!

well, we have really been de-stressing via movies lately. it started with "the incredibles" . i really love most of the films disney & pixar collaborate on ( i haven't seen home on the range on dvd yet.) and this joins my favorites lion king and finding nemo. truly entertaining and wonderful animation i might add! makes me wish i had the artistic talents of both my brothers... last saturday, we caught the 11 p.m. screening of "taxi" a truly hilarious movie! ricky and i had a great time. hehehehe tonight, since it's a holiday, we will close early and watch "after the sunset" (together with my family two/too ... get it? ;) - the syjuicos :))

tell y'all about it tomorrow... ciao!

happy birthday babuy!

i am blessed as my mood says so! blessed because 31 years ago, my babuy was born. little did i know, we would meet, fall in love and move on to a lifetime of "togetherness".

i only wish that he will always be guided, protected and blessed by God.

i love you ricky, happy, happy birthday!

what's up?

yup, what's up everybody? hehehe maybe i should ask myself that question. it's been two weeks since i last posted something here and i guess by now, the very few people who visit my blog regularly have now left me *sob, sob*

well, things at gotcha have been picking up, our customers have been slowly coming in. we really hope it picks up and stays that way. we were open last nov. 1 and i must say even here along chino roces, makati sure is different. different in the sense that when it's a holiday, you don't get to see much. it was pretty quiet last monday but we weren't without customers. meron pa rin!

on the wedding preps front, i finally got my legal capacity to marry affidavit from the u.s. embassy. whew! i really thought i'd get into trouble *wink, wink* but luckily all they asked me to do was to raise my right hand and swear that all the information i provided on a sheet of paper were true. :)) then the consul signed the affidavit.

hehehehe one step closer to getting married ;)

ciao people!
