one "bloody margarito", comin' right up!

eighth title in another weight division. wow. manny, you are truly the man! i'll have to admit though, i was a bit skeptical about this fight. it seemed like you didn't put as much effort into your training as you usually do. of course, you've got your political career, showbiz "commitments", singing 'imagine' and all that stuff.

then again, it just shows that it's not what we see that makes the difference but, it's what you are as a world-class athlete and what you do inside the ring that spells the difference.

the quote that struck me from an espn write-up was: "I did not want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing is about." i will use the adjective "compassionate" to describe manny here, wanting to stop the fight when margarito's eye was swollen and shut. a compassionate boxer - an oxymoron if you'll ask me. but that's how manny is. he knows he's the best and could certainly be boastful about it but, no, he's ... "compassionate".

is retirement an option now for you? well, you can retire if you want to. but, i would really want to see you beat the living daylights out of mayweather jr. i truly would.

my dad would've enjoyed this fight, i could imagine him watching it with my brother. and i guess he too would want you to show mayweather what boxers are really made of.

tunay kang ipinagmamalaki ng pilipino manny! ang natatanging pambansang kamao!
